Bio
Dr. Su joined the Computer Engineering Department in Fall 2002. Prior to her appointment with 菠菜网lol正规平台, she worked in the content networking division in Inktomi Corporation. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
In Computer Engineering department, Dr. Su regularly teaches classes in networking and security, which align very well with her research interests. She enjoys watching her students develop and mature through the degree programs, and is very proud of being part of their academic success and career advancement. In San Jose State University, Dr. Su received Applied Materials Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2012, and College of Engineering Faculty Award for Excellence in Scholarship in 2010.
Dr. Su conducts research in broad areas of computer networking, multimedia communications, network security, and cloud computing. She has been a principle or co-principle investigator in multiple grants, from both industry, the National Science Foundation (NSF) and NASA. These grants helped building better learning and research environments for her students. In 2006, she received the National Science Foundation CAREER award, a five-year grant supporting her work in developing an integrated coding and transmission research framework for multimedia streaming. She collaborates actively with industry partners in Silicon Valley in her research projects. Since 2010, she has been a member of faculty advisory board of NetApp's Academic Alliance program. In the past few years, she has served as a NSF panelist, chaired multiple international workshops and symposiums, and worked on technical program committees on dozens of international conferences. She is a senior member of IEEE and ACM.
